Eastons BJJ Blizard Circuit...
Hey Everyone,
If you live in the DMV I'm sure you are sick of all this snow, and I'm sure most of you are sick of being indoors by now. Well if you are anything like my Big bro and I you cant wait to get a good sweat in. Here are a few workout ideas you can try while being in the house. These are some cardiovascular workouts using only your bodyweight and don't require a partner(for those snowed in alone). Also if you have any kids, this is a great way to get them moving and involved in a physical activity.
Hope you enjoy the video!

When you just dont feel like it...SUCK IT UP!
So I woke up this morning feeling tired and unenthusiastic, despite the fact I went to bed at 9:30pm. Every night I make a list of 10-15 things that I MUST get completed before the day is done. For example, I need to help my brother make a fan page, talk to the website guy for the gym, work on my presentation, blah blah blah blah. Ooh by the way... I'm also a full time student at Trinity University. This is my Senior year and I will be graduating this Spring, only after I take and pass a series of test know as the "Senior Comprehensive Exam"(Echos in the background)lol Clearly I have a busy schedule and that doesn't include my love of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which I make time for either mentally or physically everyday. But, there are days such as today that I "just don't feel like it". I have to mentally motivate myself by visualizing what my end goals are and what I truly desire. I was reading through a magazine one day and found an ad that said "Your competition is asleep at the Boarding gate, Leave them there". I was really motivated after reading that, because there are times that I don't feel like studying for school, researching information for the upcoming gym, or training, but I like to think of what my competitors are doing. It motivates me each time I feel like slacking or not giving it my all. I tell myself to "Suck it up..Get yourself together". What are some ways that you keep yourself motivated when you don't always feel like doing something?

Training in the Blizzard.....
So I woke up this morning, came down stairs and to my excitement I have new readers. And if any of you guys are into blogging you know the feeling of when you get your first set of readers. For all of those who live anywhere near the Washington,DC area you are covered in about 2 feet of snow currently and if you are active in any sports you are probably itching to work out soon. Luckily we ALL can.... all though the weather is not conducive to driving, our drive to train is still moving full steam. I have spent the last two days snowed in with my brother Mike "The Hulk" Easton and I have been watching and mimicking his daily workout routines. He uses some of the most basic house essentials to get an Incredible workout. Check out this quick video!

Message to my Mother...
I decided to entitle this post "Message to my Mother" because as of now she is the only person currently subscribing to my blogs.lol. This is officially my first blog. I am both very excited and nervous at the same time. To introduce my self to my future readers....My name is Nyjah Easton and I am a brown belt and international competitor under Master Lloyd Irvin. I have just begun the thrilling journey of opening an Mixed Martial Arts and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school with my brother. Oh, by the way did I mention who he was? My brother is the UWC Bantam Weight Champion of The World! He's a BJJ Black belt and best of all he's my number one training partner. Being able to have my brother help prepare me for some of the most important tournaments I have faced thus far in my career has been Awesome experience and has brought us even closer as siblings. Yet the love we share first began with the teachings of my mother. When we were kids my mom would tell us that it was our duty to take care of the other and make sure the other returned home safely. With those instructions my brother found himself in trouble numerous amounts of times for "taking up for his little sister". As a morphed from a child, to an adolescent, into a young women, I silently watched and learned patience, endurance, and humilty from my mother. I would sit back and watch her put the needs of others before he own and make connections with people who had never been reached out to. I knew in a lot of ways that I was just like my mother, but I had had not found my "thing" that I was good at. I didn't know how I was going to make a difference in this world, how I could leave a mark in society..... What better than to open up a martial arts academy. Im not sure where this journey is going to take me but I am ready for the ride!
Thanks Mom:-)
